How to find the cheapest way to swap or bridge crypto
The cheapest crypto swap is not necessarily the one with the smallest fee label. Compare what you receive for the same input, then account for costs paid separately. The fastest bridge is a different question: how long until the destination assets are actually delivered?
ShillSwap brings swap and bridge providers into one app so you can request a route for your selected assets and networks. Start with the route you need, whether that is ETH to USDC, USDC from Ethereum to Base, or USDC from Base to Solana.
Compare the same transaction
Use the same input amount, source asset, source network, destination asset and destination network when comparing services. Check quotes close together in time. Comparing USDC on Ethereum with a different USDC representation elsewhere is not a like-for-like destination comparison.
Wait for an actual route quote. An indicative token-price estimate before the route loads is not an executable offer.
Look at output and separately paid costs
Check quoted output and any Minimum received amount, then inspect wallet requests for additional costs. ShillSwap currently charges a 0.5% platform transaction fee, distinct from blockchain gas and provider costs.
The review screen's Network cost is a route-supplied estimate, not a full itemized bill. Do not automatically subtract it from quoted output: some costs may already be reflected there. A zero estimate does not establish a free transaction. The fee guide explains these distinctions.
Cheapest versus fastest
A route with an attractive output may have a different settlement path from another route. Evaluate any available timing information as an estimate, not a deadline. Source-chain confirmation and destination delivery are different milestones.
ShillSwap does not promise a fixed completion time. If speed matters, check the transaction's actual progress rather than interpreting a signature or submitted transaction as completion.
Common questions
Is the cheapest route always the fastest?
No. Cost and completion time measure different outcomes. Decide which matters for your transaction while checking the quoted output and execution details.
Does higher slippage make a swap cheaper?
No. Slippage is allowed price movement, not a discount. Increasing tolerance can allow a worse execution price.
Should I retry a delayed bridge?
First inspect the existing transaction status and explorer information. An error or delay does not establish that nothing was submitted. Keep the transaction hash and avoid a blind duplicate.
Read how routing works, then open ShillSwap.
