Understanding Shill Swap fees and quotes
Before you swap, review more than the amount you are selling. Check the quoted output, the displayed cost estimate, your slippage setting and each request in your wallet.
Shill Swap uses the Trustware SDK to request routes for your selected assets, networks and amount. The amount shown before a route loads is not the same as a route quote, and a quote is not a completed transaction.
What does Network cost show?
On the review screen, Network cost displays a fee estimate supplied with the route. It is not an itemized breakdown of every provider charge and blockchain cost.
Do not read this label as a gas-only figure or a guarantee of the final all-in cost. Review the output amount alongside it, and check the details in your wallet before confirming. A zero displayed estimate is not proof that the transaction is free.
A swap can involve different kinds of costs. Blockchain gas pays for onchain execution; routing, exchange or bridge services may have their own charges. These are different from a fee charged by the app. The current review screen does not separately identify all of those categories, so it should not be used as a complete fee schedule.
Does Shill Swap charge a platform fee?
Yes. Shill Swap currently charges a 0.5% transaction fee (50 basis points) on all transactions.
This platform fee is distinct from blockchain gas and any provider costs. It is not a statement of the final all-in cost. Do not assume the review screen's Network cost label separately itemizes the platform fee.
Indicative amount, quoted output and received amount
These figures describe different stages of a swap:
- Before the quote: the input screen estimates the buy amount from token prices. It is a reference, not an executable offer.
- On review: once the route loads, the output amount comes from that route. Open Show more to inspect the displayed rate. Where supplied, Minimum received shows the route's stated minimum output.
- After completion: the receipt may still label the received amount, value and effective rate as estimates until a verified received amount is reported. Do not treat an estimate as confirmed settlement.
Changing the tokens, amount, destination or slippage setting can require a new route. Check the current review details rather than relying on an earlier number.
Do not calculate an extra deduction by automatically subtracting Network cost from the quoted token output. Without knowing which costs are already reflected in the quote, that can count the same cost twice.
Slippage is not an extra fee
Max slippage is the tolerance sent with your route request for allowed price movement. It is not a separate charge paid to Shill Swap or a promise that execution will succeed.
Where the route provides a Minimum received amount, review that figure too. Increasing your tolerance can allow a worse execution price; it does not make a route cheaper. If the app warns about your setting, read the warning before continuing.
Price impact is different from slippage
Price impact describes how the trade itself affects its execution price relative to a reference price, including the effect of available liquidity. Slippage describes the movement you are prepared to allow as execution takes place. Neither is the same as an itemized platform fee.
The current Shill Swap review screen does not show a separate price-impact figure. Do not interpret a token's market-price change, or a difference between indicative and quoted amounts, as a precise measurement of your trade's price impact.
Check each wallet request
A token approval and a swap are separate actions. Your wallet may ask for an approval before the swap transaction, and onchain actions can incur network costs. Review each request rather than assuming the Network cost estimate separately covers every approval and execution step.
Before confirming:
- Check both assets and their networks.
- Verify any receiving address.
- Wait for the route and review its output amount.
- Check Max slippage, Network cost and any Minimum received figure.
- Read wallet approvals and transaction details.
- Follow the final status and distinguish a receipt estimate from a verified received amount.
