Bridge to Base and swap tokens with ShillSwap
Use ShillSwap to request a route into Base, whether you want to move USDC from Ethereum to Base or receive a different asset through a cross-chain swap. Choose Base as the Buy network and select the asset you want to receive.
Base is an Ethereum layer-2 network. A balance on Ethereum mainnet is not automatically a balance on Base, even when an EVM wallet uses the same address on both networks.
Choose the right Base asset
Check the destination network as well as the token. ETH and WETH are not the same asset representation, and a familiar stablecoin symbol is not enough to establish a token's identity. Verify the selected asset's token address when needed.
If you want USDC on Base, choose that destination explicitly. Do not assume sending USDC to the same wallet address on Ethereum moves it onto Base.
How to bridge into Base
- Connect the wallet holding your source asset.
- Select your Sell asset and source network, then choose Base and the Buy token.
- Enter an amount and verify any requested receiving address.
- Wait for the route. Review quoted output, Network cost, Max slippage and any Minimum received amount.
- Inspect wallet approvals and transaction requests, then follow the status through destination completion.
Routes depend on the assets, amount and available liquidity. If no route appears, check your selections rather than assuming that changing only the receiver will solve it.
Plan for gas and costs
Keep enough native gas on the source network for the wallet requests. Base uses ETH for gas, so consider whether you will need ETH on Base for subsequent transactions after receiving another token.
ShillSwap's platform fee is separate from blockchain and provider costs. Read the fee guide; Network cost alone is not a complete all-in bill. For comparison tips, see finding cheaper or faster routes.
Common questions
Can I bridge USDC from Ethereum to Base?
Select USDC on Ethereum as Sell and USDC on Base as Buy, then review the available route for your amount. Check the token identities on both sides.
Does the same wallet address mean the same balance?
No. An address can be used across EVM networks while its balances remain network-specific. Select Base in your wallet when checking receipt.
Is signing enough to finish the bridge?
No. Follow the destination outcome, not just the signature or source transaction. There is no fixed completion-time promise.
